  • Spreading Goodness in Greater Nebraska

Over the past 25 years, volunteers built the Nebraska Community Foundation network to empower community growth, not respond to a worldwide pandemic. But those connections proved resilient enough to withstand the test, empowering volunteers to provide support as their communities came to terms with a tumultuous period.

The NCF network has done an overwhelming amount of good across Nebraska throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. From building community spirit to fundraising and granting dollars in support of COVID-related needs, NCF volunteers and donors have made a huge impact on their hometowns.

This session will explore the work NCF was well-situated to support during the pandemic, how that work fits into a greater philanthropic culture that includes relationship building and community development, and how planned giving fits into the overall picture.

  • Getting on Solid Ground with Gifts of Real Estate

Is your organization falling short of its potential for acceptance of real estate gifts? Are unfamiliarity with the process and types of real estate and gifts holding you back? This session will encourage you and your organization to get involved by learning some of the basic principles associated with gifts of real estate. We will address tax and legal guidelines, gift acceptance policies, types of real estate gifts, and some pitfalls and benefits of real estate gifts. The goal of the session is to instill in each attendee the confidence needed to engage donors in conversations about making significant planned gifts with real estate.
